Customised tower solution secures Vestas' largest order in Serbia

Long-term customer MK Fintel Wind a.d. Beograd has placed an order for 20 V126-3.45 MW turbines for the 69 MW Kosava I wind park in Serbia.

Falck Renewables Vind AS, a Norwegian subsidiary to Falck Renewables S.p.A., has placed an order for 12 V136-4.2 MW turbine for the Hennøy wind project in Svelgen in the western part of Norway, which will be the first project with V136-4.2 MW turbines in Norway.

Vestas has received its first ever order in Panama through a wind energy solution for the 66 MW Toabré wind park, which will support Panama's ambition to get half of its electricity from renewables by 2050.

Vestas secures 442 MW order from Xcel Energy Inc.

Vestas has received an order for 442 MW of V116-2.0 MW and V110-2.0 MW turbines from Xcel Energy Inc., a national leader in wind energy.

Vestas has received an order for 212 MW of V136-3.45 MW turbines, delivered in 3.6 Power Optimised Mode, from Longroad Energy for the Rio Bravo wind project in Texas. Including previously purchased 4 MW PTC components, the Rio Bravo wind project will be 238 MW in total upon completion.

Long-term customer Stena Renewable AB has placed a 72 MW order for two projects in southern Sweden. Utilising the 4 MW platform’s flexibility, Vestas will deliver 16 V136-3.45 MW turbines with 3.6 MW Power Optimised Mode specifically increased to 3.8 MW for the Kronoberget wind power project, and 3 V136-3.45 MW turbines in 3.6 MW Power Optimised Mode for the Fjällberget wind project.

Vestas is improving energy production for its 2 MW platform in low- and ultra-low wind conditions by installing a prototype V120-2.0 MW turbine with the ability to run in 2.2 MW Power Optimised Mode.

Vestas customers will now get online access to blade inspection analysis and data from any of their turbines in any market, thanks to the expansion of Vestas’ partnership with InspecTools, a leading energy asset inspection company.

Vestas to acquire Utopus Insights, a leading energy analytics and digital solutions company

The acquisition allows Vestas to seize digital opportunities and expand its service offering.

Today, at the cold climate conference WinterWind in Sweden, Vestas introduced an advanced anti-icing solution to boost the business case for wind power plants in cold climates by removing ice-built up on the blades that would otherwise reduce wind turbines’ annual energy production (AEP).

Vestas once again underlines its focus on innovation and leadership by securing a 45 MW order for 13 V136-3.45 MW turbines, all with a record-breaking hub height of 162 meter. The order was placed by Winchai Co. Ltd. for the Rom Klao wind farm, which will feature the highest wind turbine towers in Asia.

Vestas receives 40 MW order in India

Atria Brindavan Power Private Limited has placed a 40 MW order for the third and final phase of the 120 MW Basavane Bagewadi Wind Farm in the Bijapur district of Karnataka.

Vestas’ extensive experience from around 4 GW of turnkey projects across the globe has secured the company its largest project in India to date. The record order is placed by Ostro Kutch Power Private Limited and awarded through India’s first wind power auction held in February 2017.

Vestas has received an order for 40 MW of turbine components that qualify for 80 percent of the PTC value under the bipartisan PATH act that Congress passed in 2015.
