Vestas has received an order for two wind projects totalling 370 MW to repower the Pleasant Valley and Border Winds projects owned by Xcel Energy in the USA.

Vestas has received an order from JUWI GmbH for five wind projects in Germany totalling 63 MW. The order includes supply, installation, and commissioning of the turbines, as well as a 20-year Active Output Management 4000 (AOM 4000) service agreement, designed to ensure optimised performance of the asset.

Vestas secures 162 MW order with Genneia in Argentina

Vestas has secured a 162 MW order for the La Elbita project in the Province of Buenos Aires, in Argentina.

With reference to Company Announcement no. 07/2023 of 30 March 2023, Vestas has signed an agreement with Casa dos Ventos for two projects in Brazil: Serra do Tigre wind park in the state of Rio Grande do Norte, and Babilônia Centro in the state of Bahia. The projects have a total capacity of 1.3 GW once fully installed, making it the largest onshore order to date for Vestas in Latin America and globally.

The Chair of the Board of Directors of Vestas Wind Systems A/S, Bert Nordberg, has informed Vestas that he will not stand for re-election as board member in connection with the Annual General Meeting on 12 April 2023.

The sale of Vestas’ converters and controls business has been completed and marks the transfer of Vestas’ three converters and controls factories to KK Wind Solutions (KK). Around 600 of Vestas’ highly experienced and skilled colleagues will join KK. Following the acquisition, KK becomes a world leader within converter and controls for the wind industry

Vestas is presenting a new solution that renders epoxy-based turbine blades as circular, without the need for changing the design or composition of blade material. Combining newly discovered chemical technology developed within the CETEC initiative, and partnerships with Olin and Stena Recycling, the solution can be applied to blades currently in operation. Once matured, this will eliminate the need for blade redesign, or landfill disposal of epoxy-based blades when they are decommissioned.

Vestas has received a 126 MW order for the Bord na Móna Derrinlough Wind Farm Project in Ireland. The order includes a total of 21 V150-6.0 MW EnVentus wind turbines with a site-specific hub height of 110m for a site in County Offaly, located in the Irish midlands.

Vestas has received a 37 MW order for a wind park in Italy. The contract includes the supply and installation of six V162-6.2 MW wind turbines, as well as a 10-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreement.

Renewable energy developer Norvento Enerxia has placed a 62 MW order for several wind parks to be located in Galicia, Spain. The contract includes the supply and installation of thirteen V150-4.5 MW wind turbines and a V136-3.45 MW wind turbine. Vestas will also provide service for the projects through a full scope, long-term service agreement.

Vestas wins 59 MW order in Sweden

Vestas has received a 59 MW order to power an undisclosed wind project in Southern Sweden. The order includes a total of 13 V150-4.5 MW wind turbines at a hub height of 105m.

Offshore wind energy is rapidly expanding to all parts of the world and advancements within floating foundations enable offshore wind power to serve new markets. In many countries, especially the Asia Pacific region, floating wind is considered a crucial driver to achieve their renewable energy goals, because of regional geographic characteristics and weather conditions, such as deep coastal waters and frequent earthquakes and typhoons, don’t favour offshore wind turbines on conventional bottom-fixed foundations.

Vestas signs multi-year framework agreement with long-time partner TPI Composites Inc. (TPI), a leading supplier of wind turbine blades and services, to strengthen its scalable global supply chain network for current and future wind turbine blades.

Vestas extends partnership with wpd with onshore order in Taiwan

Vestas has secured a 21 MW order with wpd AG in Taiwan that includes five V117-4.2 MW turbines with 91.5m towers in two wind projects.

After a thorough and competitive process, Atlantic Shores Offshore Wind (Atlantic Shores), a 50:50 partnership between Shell New Energies and EDF Renewables, is proud to announce its selection of Vestas as the preferred supplier for its 1.5 GW offshore wind project in New Jersey, USA.

Vestas has secured a 50 MW order with Toda Corporation for the SGET Iwaizumi Wind Farm in Iwate prefecture, Japan. Owned by SPARX Green Energy & Technology, the wind project will be constructed by Toda Corporation and will feature 12 units of V117-4.2 MW wind turbines.

Engie Brasil Energia SA, has signed an agreement with Vestas for the Serra de Assuruá wind park in the state of Bahia, in the municipality of Gentio do Ouro, Brazil. The project has a total nameplate capacity of 846 MW once fully installed, making it the largest wind project in Latin America.

Inch Cape Offshore Limited, a joint venture between Red Rock Power Limited and ESB, has appointed Vestas as the preferred wind turbine supplier for the 1.1 GW Inch Cape Offshore Wind Farm in Scotland. Both Red Rock Power and ESB are Vestas clients for onshore wind projects, and with this new commitment, these partnerships now continue offshore.

Baltic Power Sp. z o.o, a joint venture between PKN ORLEN S.A. and Northland Power Inc., has chosen Vestas as the preferred turbine supplier for the 1.2 GW Baltic Power Offshore Wind Project in Poland.

Vestas has signed an agreement with LM Wind Power, a leading manufacturer of wind turbine blades, to develop the wind energy supply chain and scale renewables efficiently for the global energy transition. The agreement includes design and manufacturing of blades for V172-7.2 MW wind turbines of the EnVentus platform.

Vestas has received a 104 MW order for the Pinta y Guindalera wind park, to be located in Valladolid, Castilla y León, Spain. The contract includes the supply and installation of 23 V150-4.5 MW wind turbines, as well as a 10-year Active Output Management (AOM 4000) service agreement.

Vestas and EDF Renewables seal 261 MW deal in Brazil

Vestas has secured a 261 MW order for the Serra das Almas wind park, which is located at the municipality of Urandi, in the state of Bahia.

A consortium formed by Qair, TotalEnergies and BW Ideol has placed a 30 MW order for the Eolmed offshore wind park, a floating project located 18 km off the coast of Gruissan and Port-la Nouvelle, France, in the Mediterranean Sea.

With reference to Vestas Northern & Central Europe’s press release of 9 July 2021, Vestas has secured a conditional order agreement to supply 64 V235-15.0 MW wind turbines for EnBW’s 900 MW He Dreiht offshore wind project in 2025. In addition, Vestas will deliver a multi-year solution to service the wind project when operational.

Pan American Energy Energias Renováveis has signed an agreement with Vestas for the supply and installation of 94 V150-4.5 MW wind turbines for the Novo Horizonte wind park in the state of Bahia, Brazil.

In the continuous journey to develop the wind energy supply chain and produce main components close to key markets, Vestas has further strengthened the flexibility of its global manufacturing footprint with a supply agreement with LM Wind Power, a leading manufacturer of wind blades. The multi-year agreement includes production of V150-4.2 MW turbine blades for primarily the Brazilian market with the flexibility to export if applicable.
