Germany - Vestas wins German wind energy order for 38 MW
Vestas is pleased to announce receipt of another order for 19 Vestas V90-2.0 MW wind turbines with a hub height of 125 metres from BOREAS Energie GmbH for a wind farm in Germany. The wind power plant will have a total capacity of 38 MW.
The scope of the order includes supply, installation and commissioning of the wind turbines, a VestasOnline® Business SCADA solution and a long-term service and maintenance agreement. The delivery of the wind turbines is scheduled for 2011.
“Once again, Boreas has chosen Vestas, and we are extremely pleased with the commitment from an experienced developer such as Boreas,” says Hans Jörn Rieks, President of Vestas Central Europe. “Vestas’ goal is to meet our customers’ expectations for productivity and cost of energy, and we look forward to doing just that with Boreas – particularly through our long-term service agreement.”
“Vestas has shown great flexibility and an excellent understanding of our needs on this project,” says Jörg Kuntzsch, Managing Director of BOREAS Energie GmbH. “We appreciate the combination of Vestas’ global expertise and product quality and the understanding of local market requirements. This agreement shows the importance of long-term cooperation in building a solid business relationship, and this only comes from hard work on both sides.”
Every single day, Vestas wind turbines deliver clean energy that supports the global fight against climate change. Wind power from Vestas’ more than 41,000 wind turbines currently reduces carbon emissions by more than 40 million tons of CO2 every year, while at the same time building energy security and independence.
Vestas is the world leader in wind technology, with a history of technological innovation and over 30 years of experience in developing, manufacturing, installing and maintaining wind turbines. Vestas was a pioneer in the wind industry and started to manufacture wind turbines in 1979. In 1987, the company began to concentrate exclusively on wind energy.
Today, Vestas operates in 65 countries, providing jobs for over 20,000 passionate people at our service and project sites, research facilities, factories and offices all over the world.
