France - Theolia and Ventura announce industrial commissioning of 12 MW wind farm

The Moulin de Froidure wind farm is located in the region of Cocquerel. The wind farm has six wind turbines with a total power of 12 MW. Owned by THEOLIA, it was developed and constructed by its subsidiary VENTURA which will be responsible for its operation. The wind farm consists of six REpower (type MM82) turbines with a unit power of 2 MW. The height of the installation is 121 m to the end of the turbine blades, the central generator is 80 m in height and a rotor diameter of 82 m. The scheduled annual electricity production of the Moulin de Froidure wind farm will be 24.7 million kWh. This will provide electricity coverage for approximately 7,530 people, including heating, or approximately 11,350 people excluding heating. This method of producing electricity saves 20,465 tonnes of CO2 emissions every year. The project started in 2001

The development, construction and the operation of the Moulin de Froidure wind farm has been a long-term project. Starting in 2001, VENTURA initiated its feasibility studies for a wind farm on this site. After contact with the local authority began at the start of 2001, VENTURA carried out environmental impact studies and technical design studies for the wind farm (analysis of the wind power and direction, connection to the National Grid, acoustic simulation, etc). The building permit was filed in February 2003 and granted in February 2006. The construction work started in March 2007.
