CONFERENCE PROGRAMME HIGHLIGHTS
The 2007 European Offshore Wind conference programme addresses the central questions facing today’s European offshore sector, from different industrial perspectives.

Opening Session

The Opening session of EOW2007, chaired by Kaj Lindvig, CEO, A2SEA, outlines the offshore vision of key decision makers at EU and national level. Confirmed speakers include:
- Maud Olofsson, Minister of Enterprise, Energy and Communications, Sweden
- Jakob Axel Nielsen, Minister of Transport and Energy, Denmark
- Michael Müller, Parliamentary State Secretary, Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety, Germany
- Mechtild Rothe, Vice President of the European Parliament
- Arthouros Zervos, President, European Wind Energy Association

The offshore wind sector has changed dramatically over the past five years. The Industry vision panel will discuss the realistic short and long term potential for offshore development, from an industry perspective.
European Policy for Offshore

In 2007, EU members States agreed on a 20% binding target by 2020 for renewables. This session will discuss the necessary policy requirements and priorities which will accelerate the development of offshore wind to meet the energy challenges set by the 2020 target.
