The milestone is also a bellwether for the industry, signifying the growth in wind turbine power generation around the world and the increasing reliance on condition monitoring for these machines.  The company surpassed the 15,000 system milestone just last year, and the 5,000 units provided in the interim underscore a rapidly accelerating trend.

The milestone is also an endorsement of the highly successful condition monitoring solution offered by Brüel & Kjær Vibro, based upon its Diagnostic Data Acquisition Unit (DDAU) hardware, companion VibroSuite software, and network of remote monitoring and surveillance centers strategically situated in North America, Europe, and Asia. These centers are staffed by highly experienced engineers that provide both surveillance and root-cause diagnostic services.

As the wind power industry grows each year in terms of increased investment focus, growth in installed capacity, and advancements in technology, there is also a growing need to optimally manage the operation and maintenance of wind turbines. Brüel & Kjær Vibro has been engaged in providing condition monitoring solutions for these important machines since 2003, gaining a leadership role during infancy of the global wind power market, and remains as a leader in the wind turbine conditon monitoring market.

“With 20,000 DDAU units now sold, we’ve reached yet another milestone in our mission to optimize wind turbine healthcare,” says Amitabh Khosla, Vice President of Sales for Brüel & Kjær Vibro. “We are honored to enjoy a leading role in fulfilling the industry’s needs for reduction of wind turbine life cycle costs and unplanned downtime. With the imminent release of our latest generation of DDAU hardware (DDAU3), we are extending the capabilities of our technology to deliver even more value to wind turbine operators, owners, and manufacturers. Every day we are adding new and retrofitted wind turbines to our list of customers successfully relying on Brüel & Kjær Vibro condition monitoring systems and services. This tailored solution has been developed from our unmatched level of industry experience as well as from our close cooperation with customers and their service teams.”
