Germany- Fuhrländer and W2E are joining forces in wind energy
German wind turbine manufacturer Fuhrlander AG has announced that it has acquired a majority interest in wind energy engineering company W2E Wind to Energy GmbH.
The two wind turbines companies have been in close cooperation for 10 years and collaborated on the launch of a 2.5 MW wind turbine with a 103-meter rotor diameter with hub heights of 85 to160 meters. Multiple prototypes of 2 MW wind turbines with 93-meter rotors were also installed, certified and evaluated in Germany.
Both companies have been working on the construction of several prototypes of a 3 MW wind turbine planned for installation this year. The turbine has a rotor diameter of 120 meters and will be initially installed on tubular towers with a hub height of 105 meters and later will be available on 140-meter hybrid towers. Installations are planned in Waigandshain, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, as well as in the Ukraine.
The development of this wind turbine is supported by funds from the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety.
