The acquisition adds close to 200 experts to Ramboll’s successful Wind division, bolstering the company’s strategic advisory and project development capabilities. The expansion thus strengthens Ramboll’s ability to support clients throughout all stages of wind energy projects around the world.

In a new project win, we will develop the electrical infrastructure for the planned energy island in the Danish North Sea. The contract has a value of DKK 225 million over 10 years.

Dr. Tim Fischer has been appointed as the new Director for Ramboll’s global Wind division. As part of Ramboll Energy’s executive leadership team, Tim will be responsible for all activities in offshore and onshore wind globally and will steer the ongoing market expansion.

Ramboll together with Aalborg University have delivered a PhD project that provides greater reliability upon the design and operational phase of offshore wind farms. The results show how measurement data based on the digital twin technology can help operators save money, reduce CO2 emissions, and increase lifetime of offshore wind structures.

Ramboll has been awarded a contract by Saipem, through its subsidiary Saipem SA, to perform the primary steel design of the monopile foundations for the Calvados Offshore Wind Farm (Courseulles-sur-Mer), located 10 km off the Bessin coast in northwestern France.

Ramboll joins leading trade association for the wind energy industry

Ramboll has joined the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) - an organisation that works towards developing new wind markets globally.

Market demand for tall towers has led to the development of a new tower concept enabling cost-effective tall onshore wind turbines and wind turbines on sites that would not otherwise have been feasible.

Major wind energy drive in Sweden

Wind energy is expanding in the Nordic countries, and particularly in Sweden where it is expected to double by 2022. Headed by Rickard Klinkert, Ramboll is ramping up to meet market demand.

The Ramboll Group has entered into an agreement to acquire the US engineering and design consultancy OBG, adding 900 experts within water, energy, environment and advanced manufacturing with effect of 1 January 2019. With the acquisition Ramboll now has 2,000 experts in the US and 15,000 globally.

State of New Jersey selects Ramboll to be Offshore Wind Strategic Plan Partner
