Ramboll appoints new global Director for Wind Energy
Within Ramboll’s new strategy to become the Partner for Sustainable Change, wind energy is a key focus area of Ramboll’s service offering. Ramboll’s wind division has grown significantly in the past years with more than 25% organic growth per annum - particularly within offshore wind where Ramboll is the leading independent consultancy globally.
Since joining Ramboll in 2011, Tim Fischer has been a key driver behind that growth. After successfully establishing Ramboll’s wind and energy services in the German market, he took over the global offshore wind business in 2019. Benefiting from Ramboll’s world-class expertise in foundation design, he expanded the scope of the business to a full-range consultancy, including project development & advisory, floating wind, wind & site and asset management services. Today, Ramboll employs over 500 dedicated wind energy experts across 25 offices in 15 countries globally.
Tim Fischer: “I am honoured to take on this new role and lead a great team with exceptional expertise and passion. We are united in our objective to continuously develop solutions for one of the most critical challenges of our time: tackling global climate change by enabling the green energy transition worldwide. The demand for green energy solutions is consistently increasing – now more than ever given the recent geopolitical developments. 10 years ago, installation targets as we discuss today, would have been impossible to accomplish. I am proud to be part of that journey and shape the industry.”
Hannes Reuter, Managing Director of Ramboll Energy: “Wind is a key pillar in our ambition to become the global leader in the energy transition in our industry, Tim’s strong experience, leadership skills and passion for the wind sector will be pivotal to further expanding our global Wind business.”
Tim Fischer takes over from Klaus Jacob Jensen who in joint management with Tim Fischer has lead Ramboll’s Wind business since 2011. Klaus Jacob Jensen will stay and support in a transition period and he will leave Ramboll in January 2023.
