"We welcome G.E. Energy Financial Services as an investor in our Gratiot County Wind farm project. This financing, together with our bank loan facilities that were recently completed, provide Invenergy with a strong investor base for our Gratiot County Wind Farm," Jim Murphy, chief financial officer and chief operating officer of Invenergy, said.

The wind turbines project, scheduled for completion in 2012, has a long-term power purchase agreement with Detroit-based DTE Energy. Invenergy is also constructing a 102.4-MW wind energy project on top of the 110.4-MW Gratiot County project, which will be transferred to DTE Energy upon completion.

These projects will consist of 133 1.6-megawatt G.E. Energy wind turbines, featuring 82.5-meter diameter rotors with 100-meter towers. Totaling 212.8 MW, the wind power projects, said to become Michigan's largest wind farm will produce enough energy to power 50,000 homes and help DTE Energy meet Michigan's renewable portfolio standard which mandates that 10 percent of the state's energy should come from renewable sources by 2015.

Invenergy currently has over 6,600 MW of wind energy, solar power, and thermal projects under contract, in construction or in operation. It has put in place 26 wind farms and five natural gas-fueled generating facilities.

Its wind farm plant have a capacity of over 2,200 MW and provides for approximately two million American homes, making Invenergy one of the top six largest wind energy companies in the U.S., according to the American Wind Energy Association.
