GE Renewable Energy serves the energy production industry by developing and providing technologies that support the efficient use of natural resources. It has built over 42,000 wind turbines that generate more than 60,000 megawatts of clean energy in total worldwide.
GE Renewable Energy produces wind turbines (WTG) in Germany, France, China, India, Brasil and the United States. One of the main facilities for Onshore Wind is located in Salzbergen. In addition to a factory, the Salzbergen site houses a training center and a customer service center. GE's current portfolio includes onshore turbines ranging from 2.5 to 6,0 MW as well as project management, product management, engineering, service and maintenance. With a nominal capacity of 6 MW and a rotor diameter of 164 meters, GE's Cypress is optimized for low and medium windsites in Germany and is GE's most powerful onshore wind turbine.
