eologix equips 51 Enercon wind turbines with blade-based ice detection system eologix:safe

The various Enercon wind turbines in different performance classes are to be installed in seven wind farms which are planned for Burgenland. Construction of the majority of the projects resulting from this cooperation is scheduled to start this summer.

eologix sensor technology gmbh, market leader for ice detection systems in Austria, will equip all wind turbines with their eologix:safe system in these projects.

eologix:safe signals a safety relevant stop due to icing on the blades according to the DNV-GL certification. With this system one can precisely detect icing and do an exact local detection of occurring ice on the blade (including measuring the ice thickness and the surface temperature) regardless of visibility conditions or access. All eologix systems are modular, so with eologix:safe it is possible to stay open for future expansions up to eologix:restart, an automatic restart systems (DNV-GL certified) or eologix:heat (for preventive heating).
