Iran - Iranian company to develop wind energy in Pakistan
Sanir, an Iran-based company, announced that it has entered into a joint venture with a Pakistani company to establish a wind farm in Sindh province, Pakistan. Sanir will construct a 1,000 MW wind power plant in Sindh.
The Commercial Counselor of Iran in Karachi, Ahmad Fasih, stated that Iran is the only nation in the region to possess technological capabilities to produce wind turbines locally. Iran has the expertise to support Pakistan in any power plant construction. Iran can also help Pakistan in building transport infrastructure such as railways or highways, commercial buildings, and big residential complexes.
Moreover, Sanir had signed a contract in 2009 to build a 50 MW wind farm in Pakistan. The company has also been assigned to develop four wind turbines facilities in Armenia, under the agreement signed between the Iran and Armenia governments.
