European Wind Energy Association (EWEA) announces revised set of objectives
The European Wind Energy Association (EWEA) has announced a revised set of objectives, along with a new board and Executive Committee.
The group aims to increase the level of development of wind energy markets and technology in Europe, taking advantage of the Union’s Kyoto Protocol emission reduction commitments.
“The world's rising demand for energy, and in particular renewable energy, requires that the energy producers, the equipment manufacturers and the politicians set targets which are aligned and achievable”, said Prof. Arthouros Zervos, EWEA President.
“EWEA has been organised and designed to be an essential partner in bringing the wind energy industry players closer together and to facilitate the achievement of at least one common target: that renewable energy becomes competitive with conventional energy. This target alone will secure a natural fulfilment of the targets set in Kyoto,” he added
