Next coup from China: Second company follows suit with 18 MW wind turbine

The MySE 18X-28X has 140-metre-long rotor blades and a rotor diameter of over 280 metres. This means that the turbine can cover 66,052 square metres, which is equivalent to the area of nine football fields. At an average wind speed of 8.5 metres per second, each turbine can generate 80 GWh of electricity per year, which is enough to supply 96,000 inhabitants.

According to the company, the MySE 18X-28X even goes beyond the 18 MW limit. They use a modular and lightweight design, as well as holographic MPC and digital DTC technology. This allows to operate in extreme ocean conditions, such as a force 17 typhoon with wind speeds of over 56.1 m/s.
