Change in Management for wpd in France

wpd has been developing, financing, building and operating wind energy projects in France as wpd sas since 2002. Philippe Vignal will step down as Co-CEO with effect from 18 May. Grégoire Simon, who joined the company as Co-CEO in October 2016, will now take over all management functions.

Philippe Vignal has plans to realign his career and looks back positively: "The last 15 years have been a great adventure for me. wpd has developed into an important player in the French wind industry during this time. With 25 wind farms and a total installed capacity of almost 350 MW in France, wpd can now look back on a very solid project portfolio and more than pleasing prospects."

New managing director Grégoire Simon, who has 12 years of experience in the wind energy industry, says: "I am very pleased to continue the wpd adventure and accompany it through its next growth phase. wpd is now and will remain an independent player in the industry. Following the commissioning of six new wind farms in France in 2017, 2018 and the coming years, the outlook is promising. I hope that wpd sas will continue to actively contribute to the development of onshore wind energy and to a rapid change in our energy mix towards all renewable energies".
