Phase one of the two-phase, 169MW Galway Wind Park project has been officially completed and is now fully operational, meaning 22 turbines are up and running.

Phase one of the two-phase, 169MW Galway Wind Park project has been officially completed and is now fully operational.

Officially named Comhlacht Gaoithe Teoranta (CGT), phase one consists of 22 turbines and has a total export capacity of 66MW. The project was in construction for two and a half years, with main works first beginning in December 2014. James O’Hara, SSE’s Project Manager for Galway Wind Park, said: “This is a huge achievement for our project team, and it comes after years of hard work from everyone involved.
