New exhibitor record in sight - most of the exhibition space is already booked
With just under four months to go before the start of the premier international event of the wind industry, opening on 16 May 2006 for the third event in the series, the WindEnergy 2006 is showing its powerful appeal for exhibitors.
"The demand by exhibitors in the last few months remains strong. We have more registrations now than in the comparable period of the previous WindEnergy two years ago," says Project Director Peter Bergleiter, summarising the current status. „We are expecting more than 400 exhibitors at this specialist event," says Anja Schacht, whose responsibilities as Project Manager include space allocation, „and we are already three-quarters booked." So most of the 23,000 sqm of exhibition space in the three new halls A1 to A3 of the „New Hamburg Trade Fair", where the WindEnergy 2006 is to be held for the first time, are already taken.
„So far we have bookings from more than 100 first-time participants, that is businesses, institutions and industry associations, as exhibitors at WindEnergy 2006," reports Anja Schacht. And, as Peter Bergleiter adds, „We are particularly pleased with the clear signals given by the international wind market. The proportion of foreign exhibitors is growing steadily." About 40% of the exhibitors at the WindEnergy 2006 are international companies. Eleven international manufacturers of wind turbines will be presenting their new products and projects in the new halls of Hamburg Messe. The outstanding position which the WindEnergy has established in the global wind market in recent years is also demonstrated by the current status of national delegations. „The USA, the UK, Denmark, Spain, Norway and Sweden are planning to have national pavilions in Hamburg," says the Project Director.
The subjects of the high-calibre supporting programme dialog@WindEnergy also play an important part in the high level of interest shown by both exhibitors and visitors. The „National Presentations" will provide information on the key target markets, analysing their legal, political and economic conditions and developments. More than 20 countries have already registered, and further inquiries have been made. Many manufacturers, equipment suppliers and project developers will present their product innovations and services in the framework of the „Exhibitor Forum . The „Topics Forum" will comprise presentations and panel discussions on Export, Offshore Engineering, Finance & Insurance, Service Concepts and Grid Expansion - all of these are subjects of particular importance to this expanding industry. The dialog@windenergy will be accompanied by further events, such as the VWEW Congress, organised by the Association of the German Electricity Industry (VDEW) on 16 and 17 May.
The importance of this specialist trade fair as an information platform for this international industry is demonstrated not least in the expected visitor numbers - the Project Director estimates attendance by more than 12,000 visitors from over 55 nations.
Exhibitor interest was already very high in 2004, and more than 100 new exhibitors have now registered for 2006
