Norwegian renewables company Statkraft and Dutch climate tech start-up Aquabattery partner to develop a promising technology to improve long-term storage of electricity through a flow battery made with salt water.
The acquisition of Enerfin adds 1.5 GW of operational wind power, wind and solar capacity currently under construction plus a sizeable pipeline of projects in development to Statkraft’s portfolio. This reinforces the Norwegian company’s position as a major international renewable energy player, and significantly strengthens its position in Spain and Brazil.
Statkraft delivered solid results in the third quarter even though power prices were significantly down. Value creation was particularly strong from energy management and market activities. Statkraft continues to deliver on its ambitious growth strategy.

Statkraft has acquired two companies in onshore and offshore wind power: Njordr Offshore Wind AB, which develops offshore wind power and Svevind Nordic AB, a development company in onshore wind power. With the purchase, Statkraft underlines its ambitions to continue the Swedish growth journey in renewable energy and contribute to the energy transition.
