wpd GmbH

wpd was founded in Bremen in 1996 and has developed into one of the leading developers and operators (IRPP) of onshore wind and solar parks in Europe. The group of companies consists of wpd GmbH (project developer and operator), wpd windmanager (commercial management and technical operations management) and Deutsche Windtechnik (maintenance and technology).

With 3,700 employees worldwide, wpd has realized projects with 2,630 wind turbines and a total output of 6,110 MW as well as solar energy projects with an output of 35 MW. IRPP's business includes projects in its own portfolio with a total capacity of almost 2,623 MW, of which almost 1,000 MW are in Germany.

In addition to developing projects itself, wpd also takes on project partnerships, commercial construction, contract design, project financing through to completion and the operation of wind and solar energy plants.

wpd is active on the German domestic market and is constantly expanding its international activities. The company has built up a global project pipeline of 15,775 MW wind onshore and 3,235 MWp solar PV. Today, wpd is active in 29 countries worldwide.
