Landstar Earns Quest for Quality Awards from Logistics Management

Landstar received 2011 Quest for Quality Awards in the Dry Freight Carriers, Industrial & Heavy Haul Carriers, and Third Party Logistics categories.
Each year since 1983, Logistics Management has surveyed a representative sample of its readers to evaluate the transportation logistics service providers that they use. “More than 5,500 logistics managers cast their votes for the carriers and 3PLs that they feel deserve the ultimate award for customer satisfaction,” according to the magazine.
The survey ranks transportation service providers on five key criteria: On-time Performance, Value, Information Technology, Customer Service, and Equipment & Operations. A different set of criteria is used to judge companies in the third-party category. Third-party logistics providers are rated on the following attributes: Carrier Selection & Negotiation, Order Fulfillment, Transportation & Distribution, Inventory Management, and Logistics Information Systems.
