Germany - Ground-breaking ceremony for Fuhrländer's new production plant

250 jobs and apprenticeship training positions are to be created in the 200 metres long production hall and offices

Fuhrländer AG is now building a new factory especially for modern multimegawatt plants on the intermuniciple industrial estate at Siegerland Airport that is in great demand by the global market. With this, the manufacturer located in the Westerwald area, is setting a further milestone in its expansive company history. 250 jobs and apprenticeship training positions are to be created in the 200 metres long production hall and offices.

Fuhrländer AG already intends to begin with the construction of its currently largest factory in the early summer of 2008. Its machine house has the dimensions of a coach and weighs 96 tons. The roughly 35,000 square metres of level terrain situated directly at Siegerland Airport, offer ideal possibilities to the expanding plant manufacturer. The excellent link road via the B54 to the nearby A45 was one of the reasons for the location decision. Moreover, with this Fuhrländer is and remains in the Westerwald area.

“We shall be redesigning the factory in Waigandshain into service and logistics headquarters as well as into our training centre“, Joachim Fuhrländer explained. With 100 trainees and an extensive training and instruction programme for clients from all over the world, the Fuhrländer Academy also needs ever more space. Thus, the new factory, just a few minutes away from the parent plant, is also a decision for Waigandshain as a location.

From the logistical point of view, the new factory is being optimised to accomodating the issues of wind energy plant production and its large-volume, heavy component parts. 100 ton cranes will create access to the 200 metre long and 25 metre wide bay. There is room for the pre-assembly of individual component assemblies in the adjoining parts of the building, that can then be applied to the final installation at precisely the right moment. Parallel construction of up to 12 FL 2500 machine houses is possible here.
