The British Wind Association welcomes the UK Government's "Its Only Natural" initiative

Further proof that the UK government means business on renewable energy sources

The BWEA, the association championing the UK’s wind and marine renewable resources, warmly welcomed the announcement made by Energy Minister Stephen Timms regarding a new renewable energy awareness campaign. BWEA Chief Executive Marcus Rand commented: “Today’s announcement of a major renewable energy awareness campaign is welcome news and further proof that this government means business on renewables.” The Energy Minister launched ‘It’s Only Natural’ at the first national conference on wave and tidal energy in Bristol, organised jointly by BWEA and Regen SW, describing it as a sign of Government’s continuing commitment to renewable energy. Stephen Timms, Energy Minister carried on to say: “Our campaign will leave nobody in any doubt that renewables are at the heart of the Government’s energy policy,” he said.

The campaign will seek to inform planners, investors and the wider community of the potential and benefits of renewable energy. Marcus Rand said “The UK is home to a great natural powerhouse in the wind and the sea, and with sustained Government, private sector and public support, we can convert this into clean electricity for millions of homes across the country.
