News Release from WEB Windenergie AG
Wind Industry Profile of
Expansion of W.E.B headquarters
In recent years, W.E.B has become a reliable employer for regional jobs in the Waldviertel region. Of course all these employees need somewhere to work – and workspace in Pfaffenschlag has gotten a little tight lately, even though the last extension was only completed in 2019. A lot has happened in the meantime, though: the number of W.E.B employees in Austria increased from 123 in late 2019 to 152 in late 2022 – reaching a record of 169 employees in Austria at the moment. Most of them work from the headquarters of W.E.B in Pfaffenschlag, which has simply grown too small to accommodate this growth. New office space is the only logical conclusion.
Ready for the future
The new building on the premises of W.E.B will be linked to the office building opened in 2019. The almost 1,100 square meters of new usable space will spread over four floors. The first and second floor will accommodate 14 offices for up to 56 workplaces. The third floor will provide six meeting rooms equipped with mobile walls to easily adjust them in size as needed. There will also be a new elevator to ensure barrier-free access throughout the building.
If you passed by recently, you might have already seen the start of construction. A key milestone will be the topping out scheduled for early October 2023. It will not be long after that for employees to move into their offices – the new rooms will be ready in early 2024. If everything goes according to plan, construction work will be completed in spring 2024, barely a year after the start of construction.
