Finnland - WinWinD delivers the largest wind park in Estonia and the Baltics for Eesti Energia

The total value of the wind park investment is approximately 57 million euros.

Winwind Oy and Eesti Energia AS Oy have signed a significant wind turbine delivery agreement. WinWinD will deliver thirteen 3 MW wind turbines for the Aulepa wind park situated in the Noarootsi district. The wind park’s total output will be 39 MW, with an annual production of over 100 GWh, which will cover 1.3% of the end consumption of electricity in Estonia, and prevent the emission of 120 000 tonnes of carbon dioxide in the air.

”We have already delivered a 24 MW wind park at Viru-Nigula for the Estonia’s market, and in the spring of 2008, we will deliver a 12 MW wind park to Rouste. The now agreed Aulepa wind park delivery will take place in the spring of 2009. The total value of these deliveries amount to around 100 MEUR. These projects and agreements signal our customers’ belief in WinWinD technology and make WinWinD’s remarkable growth possible,” says Veli-Matti Jääskeläinen, Managing Director of Winwind Oy.

The wind turbines to be delivered are of the WWD 3 type, based on WinWinD’s proprietary technology, with a rated power of 3 MW. The hub height of the turbines is 100 m and the rotor diameter is 100 m. As a partner in co-operation with Winwind Oy, Empower EEE AS will handle the wind park electrification.

About Winwind Oy
Winwind Oy is a company established in 2000, which develops and manufactures economical and cost-efficient 1 MW and 3 MW wind turbines. WinWinD’s wind turbines have been designed for demanding conditions. The benefits of WinWinD’s wind turbines include technological strength, reliability and cost-efficiency. The energy output of a WinWinD wind turbine is good even in low-wind conditions and the wind turbines offer the lowest production costs calculated over the entire life cycle. In the low-rotational-speed solutions developed by WinWinD, electricity is generated in a new kind of integrated power unit, based on reliable planetary gears and a slowly-rotating permanent magnet generator. www.winwind.fi
