Invenergy Secures 800MW of wind turbines for 2009 North American and European projects

Contracts with General Electric for '07, '08 and '09 total 2,100 MW

Invenergy Wind LLC is pleased to announce that it has contracted with General Electric Company ("GE") to purchase an additional 800 MW of wind turbines for use in its North American and European projects slated for 2009 construction. Along with Invenergy's previous purchases from GE of 600 MW for 2007 and 700 MW for 2008, these purchases total 2,100 MW of turbines for Invenergy's 2007, 2008 and 2009 build program in the U.S., Canada and Europe.

Invenergy Wind currently has 13 wind energy facilities representing more than 1,200 megawatts of projects in operation or under construction in North America and Europe. This portfolio of clean, renewable energy projects is expected to generate more than 3.6 billion kilowatt hours of electricity annually, enough to power almost 400,000 homes.

Mark Bell, Director of Invenergy Wind Canada, commented that "our rapid build rate in the past few years has propelled Invenergy to its current position as one of the world's largest privately owned wind energy generation companies."
