Wind Industry Profile of

Semco Maritime on green growth path with new office in Poland

Semco Maritime will establish a new office in Gdynia with 15-20 specialised employees before end of 2021. The Polish organisation will be an integrated part of the Group’s international project teams and support the growth within renewable energy projects internationally and in Poland..

The new organisation will participate in Semco Maritime’s international energy projects and focus on the attractive opportunities in the Polish renewable energy market, which is growing rapidly with the prospect of several interesting wind energy projects being established and expected to increase the production of offshore wind energy to 8 GW by 2030. Local presence is crucial for Semco Maritime’s ability to tender for these projects and establish a strong network in the region where many collaborators and customers are already represented.

“Demand for our competencies and highly qualified employees with experience within renewable energy projects is increasing steadily these years, and we will strengthen our offering to the customers with the establishment of a strong organisation in Poland where the energy industry is developing at a rapid pace. We look forward to welcoming highly qualified employees with focus on green energy projects to our Polish office”, says Jacob Øbo Sørensen, Senior Vice President, Renewables, Semco Maritime.

For several years, Semco Maritime has been working closely together with the Polish partner Electro Team Partners (ETP), who will be handling the recruitment and administration of new employees in the Polish joint venture organisation. With an increasing demand for employees with the right competencies, the office opening in Poland will improve Semco Maritime’s access to manpower and strengthen the Group’s competitiveness in business areas with attractive grow potential.

As a supplier to the global energy industry, Semco Maritime contributes to the green transition by assisting customers in providing cost-efficient, reliable and sustainable energy production. The establishment of the Polish organisation is driven by Semco Maritime’s strategic focus on building competencies, which can contribute to the Group maintaining and expanding its strong position in the Renewables and Rig Projects divisions.
