Statkraft supplies Bosch with green electricity from German solar parks.
The electricity supply started in May 2020. With the volumes supplied by the end of the term in December 2031, around 14,250 households can be supplied with solar power for 12 years. The electricity comes from nine solar parks in Bavaria with a total installed capacity of 47 MWp, for which Statkraft concluded power purchase agreements with the developer and asset owner Enerparc last year.
"The contract with Bosch shows that it is possible to supply industry with green electricity from Germany on a large scale," says Dr. Carsten Poppinga, Statkraft's Managing Director in Germany. "We are proud to be able to support Bosch in achieving its climate neutrality goals and thus jointly promote the expansion of renewable energy and consequently the energy transition.
To make climate neutrality possible, Bosch is investing in the supply of renewable energy and in energy efficiency at its own locations. All 400 Bosch locations worldwide will be climate-neutral by the end of 2020 - the German locations have been climate-neutral already since the end of 2019. By 2030, the technology and services company intends to successively further improve the ecological quality of its CO? neutral position by increasing these two actions.
"Climate change never stops - and neither do we. We are making faster progress than expected in improving the quality of our actions. Renewable energies are one of the key levers on the road to climate neutrality," said Volkmar Denner, CEO of the Bosch Group. Bosch intends to significantly increase the share of renewable energy in consumption. The long-term contract for photovoltaic power with Statkraft pays off in terms of achieving this goal and Bosch's strategy.
