Statkraft Signs up to Climate Group’s EV100 initiative
The transport sector is the fastest-growing contributor to climate change, accounting for 23% of global?energy-related?greenhouse gas emissions. Electric transport offers a major solution in cutting millions of tons of greenhouse gas emissions per year, as well as curbing transport related air and noise pollution.?
In addition to joining the EV100 initiative, Statkraft also has significant activities in the EV charging business in Norway, Sweden, Germany and the U.K. Based on the comprehensive experience from the Norwegian EV market, Statkraft plans to expand the activities in current and new Northern European markets.
EV100 is a global leadership platform bringing together a large group of international companies who want to make EVs the new normal by 2030. EV100 commitments total to 370,000 vehicles to be electric by 2030.
Statkraft, Europe’s largest renewable energy producer and an active EV charging operator, is the first Norwegian company to join this initiative, committing to transition their fleet of personal and light commercial vehicles to EV by 2030.
