News Release from GEO-NET Umweltconsulting GmbH
Wind Industry Profile of
GEO-NET: Wind resource assessment for 800MW in South Africa and 140MW in Ghana
Part of the services is the optimal placement of 8 wind measurements as well as their IEC61400-12-1 compliant construction, documentation and evaluation. At the end of the measurement campaigns, GEO-NET provides bankable energy yield assessment reports, which serve as the basis for the financing of the wind farms. GEO-NET uses the validated wind flow model FITNAH-3D for the modeling of wind conditions in the wind farms. Using FITNAH-3D wind conditions can be modelled much more accurately even in complex terrain than with standard models which are common in the industry. The client is the project developer Enertrag South Africa. GEO-NET has already carried out numerous successful bankable measurement campaigns and wind resource assessment in Germany and abroad for Enertrag.
The project in South Africa is part of the extensive international activity of GEO-NET. The experts from Hanover are currently carrying out numerous wind potential and wind measurement projects, for example in Russia, Uganda, Finland, Norway, Ukraine, Pakistan and Vietnam. In addition to bankable yield assessments and wind measurements with measuring masts and remote sensing devices, GEO-NET also offers search area procedures to identify optimum wind energy sites. The experts from Hannover benefit from many years of experience from more than 3000 projects and 300 wind measurement campaigns worldwide.
For any further questions regarding emerging markets, wind potential and our services for wind and climate analysis we are happy to welcome you at our booth at the WindEnergy Hamburg - hall A.1, booth 529.
