New cooperation partners from India and Japan for WindEnergy 2006

The WindEnergy 2006 - International Trade Fair is building up its global network of cooperation partners from the wind energy industry even more strongly than before - the Indian Wind Turbine Manufacturers Association (IWTMA) and the Japanese Wind Power Association (JWPA) are now giving their support to this premier wind industry event.

These partnerships enable WindEnergy - die leading international trade fair for the wind industry - to develop energy markets of outstanding importance in the Asian region.

WindEnergy 2006 is happy to gain the support of IWTMA, which represents all the big manufacturers in Indian market - this is the second major organisation on the subcontinent that has joined WindEnergy as a partner. There is already a cooperation agreement with the Indian Wind Energy Association (InWEA). "The WindEnergy 2006 provides an international forum for manufacturers and equipment suppliers, and for planners, finance institutes and experts from research and development," says Ramesh Kymal, Chairman of the IWTMA. "India is Asia´s leading wind energy nation, with newly installed power of 875 MW in 2004; that is why we attach such importance to this leading international event."

Japan is also one of the up and coming wind markets in the Asian region. With the ratification of the Kyoto Protocol, Japan has undertaken to install 3000 MW of wind power by 2010. So far, Japan has some 940 MW installed wind power. „The JWPA is the largest industry association for Japanese wind companies," says Teruyuki Mori, representative of the JWPA. „Our motivation for this cooperation is the high-level knowledge transfer and networking capabilities provided by the WindEnergy for this emerging industry."

Dietmar Aulich, Managing Director of Hamburg Messe, said in an interview with e-news that WindEnergy 2006 is delighted to have these two important industry associations on board, alongside the existing cooperations, underlining the importance of WindEnergy as an international platform for technological development and worldwide expansion.
