News Release from World Wind Energy Association e.V. (WWEA)

Germany: WWEA invites all visitors of HUSUM Wind 2015

Attend the Event "International Dialogue - Trends in Community Power – the Future Role of SMEs and Energy Cooperatives"

The symposium will explore the status and new developments on community power and small and medium sized companies (SMEs) in Germany, Europe and worldwide. An international distinguished group of panelist will describe the challenges which SMEs and community based investors like energy cooperatives are facing today. Together with the audience, the panelists will discuss the role such investors will play in the changing business landscape.

A special focus will be put on policies which are required to support the switch to a more decentralized energy supply structure.

One guiding question will be: Which policies do community wind projects need to further succeed?

Beyond this, also options and prospects of a 100 % renewable energy supply will be presented: Which existing and new business models will allow communities to harvest locally renewable energy?

The event is hosted by the World Wind Energy Association WWEA in cooperation with the German Wind Energy Association BWE, the European federation of groups and cooperatives of citizens for renewable energy REScoop and the Global 100% Renewable Energy campaign go100re.net
