FWT offers economical concept with large lattice towers at inland locations

Former FL 2500 comes as FWT 2500 with large hub height – record height reaches up to 160 m

WAIGANDSHAIN (wl) – FWT successfully built the first FWT 2500 at the Laubersreuth site (nearby Hof in Bavaria). This 2,5 MW is based on the well-established FL 2500 by Fuhrländer AG that is insolvent since 2013. With this, FWT continues the success story of the internationally known multi-megawatt plant and convinced customers of the reliability and banks of the economic efficiency of the concept as well as their own capability.

The FWT 2500 in Laubersreuth with its 100 m rotor is located on top of a lattice mast by conferdo GmbH & Co. KG from Esterwegen with a hub height of 141 m. “The combination of powerful engine, large rotor and high tower makes inland locations attractive and economical”, says Dieter Lahr, FWT ‘s engineering principal.

In 2014 and 2015, FWT occupies a market niche with further projects of this kind: plants on top of lattice towers with large hub heights. Because of its profitability, this project is predestinated for the construction of wind farms at inland locations. Furthermore, the open lattice framework integrates much better into the landscapes of such regions. Hub heights up to 160 m are possible.

Thus, FWT is an important business partner for operators of 2,0 to 3,0 MW plants.

By now the dynamic consortium employs more than 80 experienced staff members in the sectors Service, Production and Trade.
