The projects will utilize GE's 2.5MW class wind turbines that feature 103m rotors. Darlowo-Phase Two includes the Boryszewo, Krupy, Stary Jaroslaw and Nowy Jaroslaw facilities which will have a total generating capacity of 175MW.

Invenergy Wind is working alongside Enerco to develop the wind energy generation projects in the region.

Invenergy president and chief executive officer Michael Polsky said, "The Darlowo Wind Energy Center is a wonderful example of Poland embracing the economic and environmental benefits of its wind energy resources."

GE general manager renewable energy business in Europe Stephan Ritter said Darlowo is the result of regional collaboration between Invenergy and GE.

"Due to the scale of the project, we are establishing a service center in Darlowo to ensure the long-term reliability and performance of our wind turbines," said Ritter.

Commercial operation of the turbines which will be assembled at GE's manufacturing unit in Salzbergen, Germany is expected to start in the fourth quarter of 2012.

GE had provided 32 wind turbines for the 80MW Darlowo-Phase One, which includes Weikowice, Jezyce and Dobieslaw projects. The projects were commissioned in March 2011.

Darlowo-Phase Three will consist of two additional projects, Gorzyca and Pekanino which will increase the output of the nine Darlowo projects to 250MW.

As the nation's largest independent wind power generation company, Invenergy and its affiliated companies currently have over 6,600 MW of wind power, solar energy and thermal projects under contract, in construction or in operation.
