USA - Landstar Earns Top 100 3PL Provider and Top 10 3PL Excellence Awards from Inbound Logistics
Landstar System, Inc., a non-asset based provider of integrated supply chain solutions delivering safe, specialized transportation, warehousing and logistics services, is proud to announce that Landstar has been recognized by Inbound Logistics as a Top 100 3PL. This is the ninth time Landstar has been recognized on this prestigious list acknowledging 3PL excellence. Landstar was also recognized by Inbound Logistics as eighth among the Readers’ Choice: Top 10 3PL Excellence Awards for 2011.
“Our continued recognition by Inbound Logistics as a top 3PL provider is confirmation of Landstar’s ability to provide excellence in transportation logistics solutions,” said Henry Gerkens, Landstar Chairman, President and CEO. “We are pleased that the industry, in addition to our customers, recognizes our dedication to providing cost-effective, technology-based tools along with our extensive array of transportation services to address supply chain needs from basic transportation management to highly complex enterprise solutions.”
Each year, Inbound Logistics editors select the best logistics solutions providers by carefully evaluating submitted information, conducting personal interviews and online research, and comparing that data against their readers’ global supply chain and logistics challenges. Inbound Logistics editors selected this year’s class of Top 100 3PLs from a pool of more than 300 companies. The service providers selected in the 2011 list are companies that, according to the magazine’s editors, offer the diverse operational capabilities and experience to meet readers’ unique supply chain and logistics needs.
“One key driver in our selection process was how a logistics solutions provider enables scalability for its customers. In today’s economic climate, it is required that a 3PL produce direct savings for customers by optimizing a transport network, reducing an inventory-to-sales ratio, or advancing the order- to-cash cycle,” said Felecia Stratton, Inbound Logistics Editor. “But it is just as important – in some cases more important – for a logistics partner to act as a business change agent, driving their customers’ ability to match demand for their products more closely to supply, aligning enterprise operational performance to the larger economic trend. That is what Landstar does, and why we are happy to recognize it as a 2011 Top 100 3PL.”
