South Africa - Letter from the African Wind Energy Association - AfriWEA
Dear Members and Friends of AfriWEA,
Yesterday, Sunday the 31st of July, the South African Department of Energy has advertised the long awaited invitation and
REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATION AND PROPOSALS FOR NEW GENERATION CAPACITY, UNDER THE IPP PROCUREMENT PROGRAMME
for the finance, construction, operation, and maintenance of renewable energy generation facilities adopting any of onshore wind, solar thermal, solar photovoltaic, biomass, biogas, landfill gas or small hydro technologies for the purpose of entering into inter alia, an Implementation Agreement with the Department (DOE) and a Power Purchase Agreement with a buyer.
The Request for Qualification and Proposals ("RFP") will be available for download from 12.00 on 3 August 2011: www.ipp-renewables.co.za
Enquiries should be directed to the Project Officer via e-mail on query@ipp-renewables.co.za
A mandatory Bidder's briefing session will be held on 14th September 2011 at 10.00 (We assume in Pretoria)
REMINDER:
Next years 4TH WIND POWER AFRICA Conference and Renewable Energy Exhibition 28 to 30 May 2012 will be held at the Cape Town International Convention Centre.
The theme of the conference is:
- The 4th Revolution - Energy Autonomy"
- 100 % Energy from Renewables
