Gamesa has finalised a wind power deal to supply 300 MW of wind farm capacity to China Resources New Energy Group (CRP-Renewable), the renewable energy arm of China Resources Power (CRP). Gamesa thus gets its first wind energy contract with the Chinese company while bringing to fruition a portion of the projects included in the memoranda of understanding (MoU) it signed in April to supply 900 MW to three Chinese companies, Longyuan, Datang and CRP.

Gamesa will deliver 150 of its G90-2.0 MW wind turbines to CRP in the second half of 2011 to six wind farm plants in the Chinese provinces of Heilongjiang, Shanxi and Guangdong.

CRP Renewable subsidiary held stakes in 42 wind farms with combined installed capacity of 646 MW as of late 2010. The company has 631 MW of wind power assets under construction, plus government approval for projects representing another 970 MW.

Gamesa has operated in China since 2000, installing approximately 3,000 wind turbines at more than 60 wind farm sites across the country. The company currently has four manufacturing plants in Tianjin province and is building another two factories in Jilin and Inner Mongolia. Gamesa employs 1,200 people in China. As a wind farm developer, the company's joint project portfolio in China now totals 2,900 MW. China in 2010 accounted for 28% of the company's total sales.
