Wind Industry Profile of

Force 10 gale at the exhibition stand – Leading International Trade Fair for the Wind Industry successfully drew to a close in Husum

So, now it is over, the leading wind energy trade fair in Husum. With the end of the five-day exhibition of 971 exhibitors and approximately 30,000 visitors, the exhibition was a clear signal to politics and the economy. Wind power is on the rise again!

What can be deduced from the experts? What are the hopes for the future?

Firstly, that the subject of wind power is becoming more and more important. Secondly, that wind power can be considered more than a marginal industry or exotic industry. Wind power is on the rise again! The exhibition drew to a close on 25 September 2010 with the request for an acceptance campaign for the urgently needed infrastructure upgrade of the power grids in Germany and other countries, such as the USA. However, this was not the only signal of the exhibition. “The message that the wind industry feels strong enough to tackle the major challenges provided both onshore and offshore in an ultra-professional manner is far more important,” said Fecke, managing director of the Husum trade fair.

Friedberg was there as well - Husum – Force 10 Gale!

As has been the case for many years, the family company presented itself with its usual attractive exhibition stand. At Husum WindEnergy 2010, FRIEDBERG presented its wide product range. For more than two decades, FRIEDBERG compositions, such as the HV tower bolt sets up to a diameter of M72, rotary blade bolt systems and double end components, have been proving that they can handle the tasks of this demanding field of application. For the first time, employees from the two new companies in the USA and in South Korea were present. Even Brazil was represented.

The large presence of exhibitors and interested parties from all the continents and many countries shows that wind power is no longer just a European project. The world is aware that coal, oil and nuclear energy as the main suppliers of energy must be replaced in the medium-term.

Further establishing Friedberg as the leading manufacturer of joining technology in wind turbines

It was clearly recognisable at the trade fair that Friedberg has the strategy to establish itself as the world’s leading manufacturer in wind power. For the west, there is also the risk of becoming second to

other countries at some point. For this reason, Friedberg left footprints in Korea and the USA early on: “We will push ahead with development step by step and establish ourselves in the new markets,” said Ingrid Brand-Friedberg, managing partner of the company in the third generation. “It is about understanding the requirements of the customers and adapting ourselves to these factors,” continues Brand-Friedberg. “As a medium-sized company, it is always necessary to take one step after the other in order to be able to ensure stability for our customers and maintain a long-term partnership,” added Martin Jaeger, authorised proxy and sales manager at Friedberg.

Developing new markets – rising to the challenge

Many European countries are simply dealing more with themselves rather than taking on the challenge and working and growing with this.
You can sense that the European wind turbine manufacturers must look to China and other countries to ensure they do not get outranked. It should definitely be taken seriously, rather than be understood as an empty threat. This message must not be forgotten.

What can be concluded from this?

Wind power will become one of the main economic factors of the future. All it will take is patience and stamina. Energy production in itself will become one of the most important factors of the coming decades. Friedberg will continue to support its customers and partners, especially in technical aspects and in the development of new products as well as the further development of existing systems, with in-house research and development.
