Portfolio expansion with new business unit „Maritime Systems / Offshore“ and establishment of SIAG Engineering GmbH

The SIAG Group expands its product portfolio and becomes a supplier for steel components for the offshore wind energy with establishing the new business unit “Maritime Systems / Offshore” beside its long year experience in the onshore wind energy industry.

SIAG Nordseewerke GmbH delivers foundation structures like monopiles, transition pieces and jackets as well as tubular steel towers, main frames and generator frames for offshore wind energy plants and furthermore substations from the production site in Emden/Germany. The founding of SIAG Engineering GmbH in Emden completes the position as a full service supplier. We can offer integrated concepts to our customers with high-level engineering know-how. The new SIAG company undertakes the development, layout, dimensioning and design of maritime structures, the integration of functional areas like substations necessary for the offshore energy market as well as steel structures like foundation structures and transition pieces.

SIAG Engineering’s scope of service includes the complete project management to the actual realisation and beyond. Our customers are involved in the concept preparation to guarantee that all requirements are taken into account, necessary modifications are made and to receive the optimum result for our customers. SIAG Group targets to accompany the customers during the complete project management, beginning with making the concept, detail engineering, assembly concepts to the project implementation including after sales services. Thus we provide highest degree of investment security and price stability to our customers and reduce reworking to a minimum.

The advantage of SIAG Engineering GmbH is definitely the combination of the broad knowledge of the shipbuilding industry of Nordseewerke with the know-how of the wind energy industry of the SIAG Group. Our engineers led by Managing Director Axel Kaiser have experience in focusing on complex bridge constructions over project development of major industrial projects. Leading technologies ensure customers of SIAG Engineering the reduction of costs and definition of new quality standards.

The shipyard in Emden is looking back on more than 100 years of experience in the area of shipbuilding industry, surface vessel and marine shipbuilding, special shipbuilding as well as submarine engineering. In a unique way this excellent know how is combined with the competences of the wind energy industry and therewith makes the SIAG Group an optimum partner to implement our customers projects. This constellation builds the foundation for high delivery reliability of the produced products and therewith increases project security for the operator as well as planning certainty for investors.
