UK - PowerWind enters UK market
PowerWind GmbH, the wind turbine manufacturer and service provider, is pleased to announce entry to the UK market. A sales and services agreement has been signed with IMS WindPower, a division of Portsmouth, UK based Industrial Maintenance Services Ltd. (IMS).
“We have found a very experienced cooperation partner for the UK” says Helmut Lange, Head of Sales at the PowerWind GmbH. “IMS possesses excellent knowledge of the British wind energy market. PowerWind 56 wind turbines will be primarily sold to industrial and commercial enterprises. We aim to meet the demand from corporate customers that want to meet their carbon reduction commitments, and take advantage of the UK’s new feed in tariff for sub megawatt class turbines. With IMS as our local partner, PowerWind will gain access to wind projects in the UK.” The first PowerWind 56 wind turbines for the UK are planned to be installed in 2010, with considerably more to follow in the year 2011.
“We are delighted to be working with PowerWind in the UK” said Ian Brown, Managing Director of IMS. “IMS WindPower is working with UK clients who need a high-yield, up-to-date, efficient wind turbine in the sub-megawatt class which is suited to the wind regimes of the UK. Our cooperation agreement with PowerWind GmbH for the delivery of the class-leading PowerWind 56 turbine, along with locally based service and support, represents a very exciting opportunity for both companies. The PowerWind team has impressed us with their dynamic and professional approach and we look forward to many successful years of working together”.
