Offshore Wind and Transmission - Hamburg, Germany: 30-31 March 2010
Offshore wind projects are at a stage of mass development in Europe. Europe is already operating 1.5GW of offshore wind projects with a further 100GW at the planning and development stages. The key challenges now are to create a policy framework that supports the development of offshore wind and to develop a successful approach for the operation of a transnational grid; ensuring international electricity trading becomes a reality and contributes towards our low carbon future.
The 2nd annual Offshore Wind and Transmission Congress will examine the key aspects of offshore wind development, drawing on case study experiences from operational farms and will include a special focus on transmission and grid integration.
A unique congress with a special focus on Transmission and Grid Integration:
• Hear the latest policy and regulatory framework updates from the European Commission;
• Discuss key strategies for the creation of a transnational offshore power grid and how to drive forward ‘supergrid’development;
• Practical experiences from 9 offshore developers;
• Hear the latest in permitting, planning and siting issues;
• First class networking opportunities with the whole offshore value chain;
• Get the investors’ perspective on attractive business models.
“Very good overview of different parties involved in the offshore wind industries”
– Electrabel (attendee of Offshore Wind and Transmission Congress 2009)
DON’T MISS THE OPPORTUNITY TO:
- Hear from the European Commission on policy updates and how they will impact developers of offshore wind;
- Discuss and debate with peers on how to drive forward the development and financing of the transnational supergrid;
- Devise strategies on how to cost effectively deploy deepwater wind parks and minimise the cost of O&M
5 KEY REASONS TO ATTEND:
1) Interactive Round Table Discussions: Your opportunity to join in with the debate and get your voice heard on the following topics:
• Power quality, production imbalance and power storage issues
• Cost effective HVDC transmission
• Grid capacity and planning connection hubs
• Offshore grid planning and access
• Optimal grid management and integration into electrical network
2) Parallel Sessions on Strategy and Technology: Addressing strategy for offshore wind and the latest technological developments to enable cost effective deployment. Offering you more choice so you can tailor your day;
3) Operator Led Agenda with High Level Speakers & Presentations: Learn from 9 deployment case studies of offshore wind;
4) Network and Form Key Collaborations: Attendees will be representing the entire offshore value chain, from policy makers to technology manufacturers;
5) Get the Investors’ Perspective: Hear how to obtain financing for offshore wind parks and
