Into the Blue
The British Wind Energy Association (BWEA) will be hosting a media briefing on new research conducted for BWEA by Climate Change Capital. The research undertaken over the past two months examines the role of Government and private finance in filling the 'funding gap' that exists for this important and emerging set of renewable technologies.
Over forty companies and key Government officials were interviewed as part of the project. The briefing will present conclusions of the research and will set out key areas for action including levels of Government financial support over the forthcoming spending review. The briefing will also outline a new proposal for enhanced revenue support. The 'Marine Performance Fund' will catalyse the injection of private equity into these technologies.
Speakers:
- Marcus Rand, CEO BWEA
- Ian Temperton, Climate Change Capital
- Simon Roberts, DTI Renewables Advisory Board Member
Location: BWEA Offices, 1 Aztec Row, Berners Road, London N1 OPW
Time: 12 noon, 18th May 2004
