Brazil - EDP Renováveis plans to enter the wind energy auction to be held in the second half of this year
As is well known, the government of Brazil has already set the date for holding the first wind power auction in the history of the country: November 25.
For this reason, the subsidiary EDP Renováveis Brazil, which is already developing major wind energy projects in several states, and for long-term position in the sector, informed of its intentions to participate in the expected auction.
The company indicated that its participation will depend largely on conditions for promotion and guarantees established by the Brazilian government, as set prices for equipment, assistance in obtaining environmental permits, as well as tax incentives, as applied by other countries.
A senior executive of the company reported that they contemplate the possibility of participating alone or with other interested partners. However, he stated that they are highly motivated in the development of wind projects, primarily because one of the big advantages is that, after 6 months, you can install a large wind farm.
