China - Inner Mongolia's Kerqin Region strives to expand wind power capacity by developing mega watt wind power center
Kerqin Zuoyi Zhongqi of North China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region is striving to expand its installed wind power capacity up to 6,000 MW by the end of 2020. Included will be the construction of 22 wind power plants covering 1,800 square kilometers.
Local government plans to make full use of local rich wind power resources by way of building wind power stations with 10,000 MW of ultimate generating capacity in this 3,000-sq km land.
By the end of October, Kerqin Zuoyi Zhongqi had got 1,100 MW of wind power quotas and 400 MW of approved wind power facilities from the regional government, said Yang Mu with local government.
Now, a 400-MW wind power project is in full swing and preparation is well underway for 100-MW wind power projects.
