European Offshore Wind 2007


The 2007 European Offshore Wind conference programme addresses the central questions facing today’s European offshore sector, from different industrial perspectives.

What contribution can offshore wind power make to future European energy supply?
- How can the offshore industry develop to become more cost-efficient?
- What barriers are still preventing the development of offshore wind?
- How can the industry positively influence the development of offshore energy policy?

Opening Session

The Opening session of EOW2007, chaired by Kaj Lindvig, CEO, A2SEA, outlines the offshore vision of key decision makers at EU and national level. Confirmed speakers include:

In 2007, EU members States agreed on a 20% binding target by 2020 for renewables. This session will discuss the necessary policy requirements and priorities which will accelerate the development of offshore wind to meet the energy challenges set by the 2020 target.
