Combine high accuracy in assembly with ergonomics in the workplace

The increasing number of bolt connections on wind turbines brings the issue of speed ever more into focus. With a repeat accuracy of ±3,0%, a torque/angle controlled shut-off and a torque control even in counter-clockwise rotation, the electric torque wrench of the MV-RAD 90° series enables precise bolt connections. The electric torque wrench is up to 60% faster than a hydraulic torque wrench. The torque range from 65 to 11.000Nm covers a wide range of applications. Thanks to the angle function, assembly problems in hard-to-reach places can be avoided effortlessly and ergonomically. The MV-RAD 90° is not only handy, but also impresses with its low weight. Carrying and transporting the power pump of a hydraulic torque wrench, on the other hand, makes work on a wind turbine extremely difficult.

Increase process reliability with innovative software

Due to environmental influences and mechanical loads, bolt connections are changing. Bolts come loose and the safety of the wind turbine is no longer ensured. Therefore, bolt connections have to be checked and maintained in a defined time period. The MV-RAD 90° is particularly suitable for this maintenance work. Equipped with the Torque Check Function developed by M-PT, the tool can check tightened bolt connections without further turning the bolt. In contrast to conventional electric torque wrenches, the bolt connection is not changed and over-tightening of already tight connections is prevented.

In combination with the Documentation System, the MV-RAD 90° digitally records the most important parameters, including torque (target/actual), angle (target/actual), limit settings for torque and angle, number of bolts, mains voltage and the name of the operator. The data can be transferred to a PC via Bluetooth for evaluation. Detailed data logging of the bolting work ensures safety and quality.
