TIME Publishes List of 100 Most Influential Companies

For the first time the TIME Magazine has published a list of the 100 companies that have an extraordinary impact on the world. Among them is offshore world market leader Ørsted.

To compile the new list, TIME100 Most Influential Companies, TIME asked for nominations from every sector - including healthcare, entertainment, transport, technology and more - from its global network of editors and correspondents, as well as industry experts. Each company was then judged on key factors including relevance, influence, innovation, leadership, ambition and success.

TIME recognised Danish offshore wind project developer Ørsted for its contribution to accelerating the global energy transition and included the company in the first-ever TIME100 Most Influential Companies.

“We’re honored to be recognized as one of the TIME100 Most Influential Companies for our leadership in the renewable energy industry,” said David Hardy, CEO of Ørsted Offshore North America. “As a pioneer in offshore wind, Ørsted is committed to strengthening communities, stimulating local economies and empowering the future with clean, reliable energy. Given the White House’s recent commitment to deploy 30 gigawatts of offshore wind by 2030, we know that offshore wind is well on its way to becoming a powerful and dynamic American industry – and we are excited to help lead this growth.”

Ørsted's offshore wind projects demonstrate how to combat climate change by transitioning to clean energy while promoting growth and recovery through job creation, community investment, strategic partnerships and workforce and economic development. In doing so, Ørsted, formerly known as DONG Energy, is the first major energy company to move away from fossil fuels and now only makes its money from offshore and onshore wind farms, solar farms, energy storage and bioenergy plants.
