The Pyrgari wind farm is going to be located in the centre of Greece about 110 kilometres from Athens. Turbines will be provided by Danish manufacturer Vestas with a capacity of 4 MW per unit. The wind farm will have a total capacity of 16 MW and is scheduled to be operationel between 2020 and 2021.

It's not the first time for Iberdrola to work in Greece. The company started there as early as 2004 when subsidiary Rokas built the first projects in the southeast of Europe.

At present, Iberdrola has 17 wind farms and four photovoltaic power plants with a capacity of 261.47 MW in operation in Greece. After Spain and the UK, Greece is the European country where Iberdrola has the biggest onshore wind and photovoltaic electricity capacity.
