EDS HV Group Completes Scope of Work on Innovative Battery Storage Project for Vattenfall
High Voltage Engineering Specialists EDS HV Group, now part of the UK’s leading marine services company – James Fisher and Sons plc, has completed its scope of work to provide design and commissioning support at Vattenfall’s ground breaking battery storage (battery@pyc) project at Pen y Cymoedd.
The battery@pyc project is the, largest battery installation to date for Vattenfall, the Swedish energy group and is co-located with Pen y Cymoedd (PYC) wind farm. Connecting to its 33kV switchboard, the entire site can produce +/-22 MW for 15 minutes to provide enhanced frequency response and will be in continuous operation 365 days a year.
