USTDA Supports Renewable Wind Energy in Vietnam Through U.S. Solutions
The U.S. Trade and Development Agency awarded a grant to Power Engineering Consulting Joint Stock Company 2 (PECC2), a leading Vietnamese power engineering company, to support development of a 100 megawatt (MW) wind farm in southern Vietnam.
PECC2 selected DVN KEMA Renewables, Inc. (Seattle, WA) to carry out the project design and feasibility study. DNV KEMA is a consulting and engineering company with significant expertise in renewable energy, particularly offshore wind and including direct experience with offshore wind in Vietnam. PECC2 is developing the 100 MW Tan Thuan Nearshore Wind Power Plant in southern Vietnam in two phases, with the first phase planned to be 24 MW, and the second phase anticipated to be an additional 76 MW.
